Vox Scotland

Overview

VOX Scotland is a membership organisation run for and by people with lived experience of mental ill health. After receiving a brand refresh, they approached me to create an explainer video to tie in with the launch of their new website and showcase their bright new look and feel.

As an organisation run for and by its members, VOX had voiceovers written and recorded by their own members.

Problem

The key goal was to use the new VOX brand guidelines to ensure the animation aligned seamlessly with their updated look and feel while also standing strong on its own.

It was essential to convey their overarching message of being a friendly and welcoming organisation that embraces people of all shapes and sizes. Given that mental health can be a sensitive topic, a thoughtful approach was crucial.

Solution

The VOX logo features abstract shapes, and by incorporating these elements along with their bold colour palette, I created several characters to represent VOX in a playful and light-hearted manner. In addition to the characters, I designed various other graphical elements to animate throughout the video.

I used playful background sounds and light music to add dimension to the video while keeping the focus on the voiceover throughout.
